'RCT to improve behaviour and communication in Kenyan children with Neurodevelopmental Disorders'

Difficulties in behaviour and communication are core problems in children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and often cause the most stress to parents and families living in resource poor areas of Africa. We plan to conduct a trial of an intervention to improve parenting in rural Kilifi and the informal settlements of Nairobi to reduce these problems. This intervention is based upon a progressive parenting programme which has been adapted for families of children with disabilities and has been shown to be effective in the West in children with autism and intellectual disability.
